Barbara Attard-Pettett first started ceramics at 14. She also studied art for 9 years. Later under Esprit Barthet for 4 years, and passed A levels in both subjects at 17.

In 1996, her interest in ceramics was rekindled. She studied under George Muscat and Tony Briffa. She also started attending courses under various teachers, both locally and in UK. In 2001 she set up her own studio in Malta. She regularly participates in joint exhibitions and competitions, achieving a Special Mention in 2004 in the National Art Competition organised by the Malta Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. In 2004 she enrolled in a distance BA degree course at the Glasgow School of Art and graduated in 2008.

Barbara makes both functional and exhibition work. But she prefers stoneware for the strength and appearance of the functional ware. Her exhibition and non-functional pieces are often Raku fired. She also uses earthenware and stoneware, depending on the vision she has of the creation.
Please note as she meanwhile lives part in Gozo, part in Sicily; please book /request this workshop as early as possible so we can plan.
